The collection of the State Hermitage includes more than three million works of art and artefact's of the world culture. Among them are paintings, graphic works, sculptures and works of applied art, archaeological finds and numismatic material. Among the masterpieces, there are works by Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Michelangelo, Rubens and Rembrandt. As well, the Hermitage possesses one of the best collections of impressionists and post-impressionists, including paintings by Monet, Renoir, Matisse, and Picasso. It is possible to visit the Treasure Galleries of the Hermitage (Gold and Diamond Rooms) and Storage Facility of the State Hermitage (The Repository of the Hermitage in Staraya Derevnya) but let me know in advance to book the additional tickets. The museum is closed on: Mondays, 1 January and 9 May |
